Bio
Whether performing with a big band, singing disco hits or entertaining with Broadway classics, Sirena delights in bringing timeless music to life with elegance, warmth, and vintage flair.
Sirena Dib Ramsey first moved to Washington, DC area in 2015 to pursue a career in the arts, both as an arts administrator and a performing artist. Since then, Sirena has had the privilege to perform as a vocalist across the metro area for a diverse array of musical genres, ensembles, and venues.
Sirena's journey with music first began in public school choirs at a young age. She quickly fell in love with the arts, often dancing in the living room, listening to classical & Arabic music, and singing along to her sister's piano playing. After being bitten by the theater bug in high school, she decided to continue her studies in theater. Sirena graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in International Studies and Theatre.
Her passions were not just for performing, but for the impact arts and education could make in the world politically through cultural diplomacy. These passions sparked her interest in coming to Washington, DC, the perfect city for both the arts and policy. Sirena currently works in arts administration and event management, while also spending her off hours as a performer.
Sirena is currently a vocalist with Groovalicious, a 1970s disco cover band that performs across the DMV at community festivals, wineries & breweries, and other events. She has been with the band since 2022 and has enjoyed growing her disco repetoire with them!
As much as Sirena loves disco, her bread and butter is jazz and swing music. As a jazz vocalist, Sirena has performed at venues including Mr. Henry's Capitol Hill, the Cosmos Club, Alfio's, Glen Echo's Spanish Ballroom, and others. She has performed with the Starlight Swingtet, Ralf Bocker & Friends, and recently, as a guest vocalist with the AllStars Big Band. An avid swing dancer and vintage fashion enthusiast, Sirena always looks for any chance she can showcase her vintage style.
Additionally, Sirena has performed as a vocalist and host in many cabarets over the years with the Outstanding Voices of DC (OVDC), produced and directed by Jill Parsons at Shaw's Tavern, including being highlighted in her own featured cabaret in 2018. She has also worked as a substitute vocalist for 24k Wedding & Event Band.
Being a theater kid first, she has a soft spot for musical theater and has performed in various theater shows over the years back at home in South Carolina and in the DMV with the Little Theater of Alexandria, the Arlington Players, Rockville Musical Theater, the British Players, Town Theater, Workshop Theater, South Carolina Shakespeare Company, and more! Her favorite roles include Ulla (The Producers), Lori (Swing Time the Musical), Cinderella (R&H’s Cinderella), Fiona (Shrek), Judy Haynes (White Christmas), Ado Annie (Oklahoma), Alais (Lion in Winter), Lydia Bennet (Pride and Prejudice), and Ariel (Footloose).
As both an arts administrator and performer, Sirena believes in the power of music to bring people together across communities and generations. Whether singing a jazz standard, a Broadway favorite, or a disco classic, she is grateful for every opportunity to share that joy with audiences throughout the Washington, DC area.
